Mark Baigent’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, SAPPHICA, reimagines power, resistance, and beauty through the lens of gender-free avant-garde fashion. Inspired by the poet Sappho and her poem "Fragment 16", the collection shifts the focus from dominance and conquest toward love, emotional depth, and personal agency as acts of defiance.

Rooted in the brand’s commitment to dissolving binaries, SAPPHICA explores fluid silhouettes, tactile natural fabrics, and raw, expressive finishes that honour imperfection and individuality. Shades of emerald and malachite greens implemented through handcrafted batik techniques, developed in collaboration with Indonesian artisans, introduce experimental “Noda” prints alongside bold stripes and ruffle-line patterns in basalt grey and malachite green.

Set against the brand’s signature black, these elements form a quiet rebellion against traditional gender codes. SAPPHICA becomes a meditation on presence over power, a collection that celebrates vulnerability, desire, and the enduring strength found in feeling.
